004-anagpeach.jpgEddy Peach served as head coach and athletic director for Lamar High School from its opening in 1970 until his retirement following the 2009 season. From the Vikings' first full varsity season in 1971 through the end of his final campaign, he finished his careee with a 311-123-6 record. 

A native of Oklahoma, he attended University of Oklahoma on a combination football/baseball scholarship.

Coach Peach’s wife, Debbie, is a teacher and head of the English Department at Lamar. He has two sons, Scott and Shawn. Scott is the head football coach at Arlington High School and Shawn is a varsity coach at Sam Houston.

Coach Peach had a long list of accomplishments during his 35 year tenure at Lamar, including:

Winningest 5A Coach in Texas High School Football

Ranks 1st in State for Most Victories for a Head Football Coach at his Current School

1996 North All-Star Coach

1994 Denius UIL Award Winner

1994 Region III Nominee for North All-Star Coach

15-time District Coach of the Year

16 District Championships

1990 State Finalist

2000 and 2003 State Semi-Finalist
