Trent Fuller leads the Vikings onto the field for the first time this season as only the second head coach in Lamar High School history. He replaces the legendary Eddy Peach, who retired following the 2009 season after almost four decades of coaching and more than 300 victories.
Fuller has spent the last four seasons as offensive coordinator for crosstown rival Arlington Bowie, where he has quietly been working on an impressive victory total of his own. He helped guide the Volunteers to the first four winning seasons in school history, the first four playoff appearances, the program's top four offenses, and an overall winning record of 41-11.
His high school coaching experience also includes six years at Coppell High School and one year at Colleyville Heritage.
Fuller was the state’s leading passer in 1992, and led Arlington High School to the state semifinals. In 1994, he graduated from Conroe High School and was selected as an All-State quarterback.
At Emporia State University in Kansas, he continued to play quarterback in one of the nation’s top offenses and was named Second Team All-Conference and First Team Academic All-Conference. He graduated in 1998 with a B.S. in Social Sciences.
Fuller’s father, David, recently retired from coaching after 40 years and his brother, Mike, currently serves as head coach at Colleyville Heritage. Fuller and his wife, Shawn, are the proud parents of two sons, Chance and Colt.
